Re: Connecticut River Shad Boat
... the package arrived today and everything has gone well. ... It has been a pleasure to do business with you.
A warm greeting from Italy

Re: Coble from Perth and dinghy from Junge-Werft, built by Rainer Wedel
Hallo Rainer, ... I congratulate you on the high level of execution of the boats. They are really done to perfection and your hands work with the precision of a watchmaker. You are the best! I have 45 years of experience in photography and I am used to seeing and choosing beautiful things. I'm not a model builder even though I did something in my youth. I look for a few really good little boats every now and then because I have little space and my pension is restricted ...  I greet you and wish you a Happy Easter,

Re: USS Essex and Royal Caroline
Hello Michael, I am just back in Wassenaar ... (On the way back) I had only 3 cylinders working in my Megane but no trouble with USS Essex or HMY Royal Caroline. Both are now in my living room and seem to get along well. ... I was very happy at meeting you in person and your most hospitable wife. You are both most welcome to stay with me here should you want to see our Dutch paintings. I have plenty of room for guests. With all my best wishes ...
Michael H., Wassenaar, Netherlands

Re: USS Oneida
Michael-  ... Transport back to the US was straightforward.  Security in the Frankfurt airport wanted the case opened, but I think as much for curiosity as anything else.  The airline expressed no concerns, and I had no difficulty in boarding the aircraft.  The case fit easily in an overhead bin.  Upon arrival in the US, Customs asked for an examination, as the value of the model exceeds the free import allowance.  Your identification of the relevant regulation, allowing free duty on works of art, was most useful.  I carried a copy of the section of the regulations (calling the model a ‘sculpture’), which allowed me to make a specific suggestion to the customs agent, which was accepted.  As you can see from the photo in the letter, the model made it safe and sound to its display spot in my home.  I’ll go about getting a Plexiglas case made for it (I appreciate your preference for open-air display – but the environment in my home is diffuse with floating Labrador Retriever hair and the occasional tennis ball or squeak toy, so I think the better side of valor is a little protective armor).   Thank you again for the opportunity to purchase such a beautiful model, for your care in design and construction of a robust case, and for the hospitality of you and Heike. Mit freundlichen Grüßen ...

Re: HMS Bounty Hi Michael! ... I think the level of detail is amazing. ... This model could easily take a place alongside the antique models I saw when I schooled at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts about 60 years ago!
Richard W., California, USA

Dear Michael,  I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful website of model ships. I have for the past three years intermittently accessed your website as a reference for the English Frigate I am currently building. The French Frigate model you display in high resolution photos is what I consider to be one of the finest examples of a Frigate rendered in model. I was somewhat dismayed to read of your scaling down and govt. constraints, but relieved that you intend to keep the website up and the photos of this fine model in place. I wish you the very best for your forthcoming retirement and endeavors.

Re: Baltic Sea galeas Karl und Marie
My family and I love the model, it looks more beautiful than the pictures on your website. You ... also offer outstanding services for your customers.
Yu-Cheng K., Taiwan

Michael -  We received the ship today at our office. It was great to get it. ... I will send you updated photos when it's all setup for display. Thank you again for all your help.
